Photo Blogging Challenge – Blue (November 2017)

This month's photo blogging challenge features blue - the most common colour in my world thanks to the broad prairie sky overhead, its reflection in rivers, ponds and lakes, and the extensive use of blue-tinted glass in Calgary's newest office towers. The one constraint I imposed was to take all photos in downtown Calgary, since last month's PBC post featured photos from Canmore. Please click through to enjoy urban variations on blue...

Rotary-Mattamy-Greenway

Cycling Adventures on the World’s Longest Urban Pathway System

Thanks to the multitude of community partners backing the Rotary-Mattamy Greenway, Calgarian's have pathway access to more neighbourhoods than ever before. Wondering where to start your exploration of the Greenway? We offer up five recommendations based on pedaling more than 500 km on Calgary pathways over the last six weeks. We also share advice on which areas to avoid - at least until the final construction phase is complete. Once the missing bits are finished, the Greenway is gonna be truly awesome! We might even try to ride the whole thing in one day!

Photo Blogging Challenge – Look Up (May 2017)

Think about if for a minute...when's the last time a day went by without someone telling you to look up? This phrase applies to everything from situations as basic as looking up a bit of information on a website to much more important things, like the need to look up from the various screens that are so good at demanding attention to really engage with the people in our lives that are deserving of our attention. Finding time each day to look up from technology and work is also a good way to (re)connect with nature - to take in a daily dose of Vitamin N and reap the associated benefits.

Photo Blogging Challenge – Love (February 2017)

What's not to love about February? It provides an extra day every four years. The sunrise comes a little earlier each morning and the sun goes down a little later each evening, providing precious extra minutes of daylight. The birthstone for February is amethyst, which is purple - an awecome colour! And for many in North America, February brings the first three day weekend of the year.
