Rotary-Mattamy-Greenway

Cycling Adventures on the World’s Longest Urban Pathway System

Thanks to the multitude of community partners backing the Rotary-Mattamy Greenway, Calgarian's have pathway access to more neighbourhoods than ever before. We also share advice on which areas to avoid - at least until the final construction phase is complete. Once the missing bits are finished, the Greenway is gonna be truly awesome! We might even try to ride the whole thing in one day!

Photo Blogging Challenge – Look Up (May 2017)

Think about if for a minute...when's the last time a day went by without someone telling you to look up? This phrase applies to everything from situations as basic as looking up a bit of information on a website to much more important things, like the need to look up from the various screens that are so good at demanding attention to really engage with the people in our lives that are deserving of our attention. Finding time each day to look up from technology and work is also a good way to (re)connect with nature - to take in a daily dose of Vitamin N and reap the associated benefits.

Photo Blogging Challenge – Love (February 2017)

What's not to love about February? It provides an extra day every four years. The sunrise comes a little earlier each morning and the sun goes down a little later each evening, providing precious extra minutes of daylight. The birthstone for February is amethyst, which is purple - an awecome colour! And for many in North America, February brings the first three day weekend of the year.

Bell-Studio-National-Music-Centre

Multisensory Experience on the Program at National Music Centre

Part museum, with performance spaces, a broadcast facility, studios and classrooms, Studio Bell is home to approximately 2,000 rare instruments and artifacts, including a fantastical Kimball Theatre Organ and one of Elton John's pianos. One corner of the ground floor houses the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio. Exhibits on five floors showcase Canada's musical talent, the history of music in Canada and the role of music in the everyday lives of Canadians. The most regular opportunity to hear how sound travels through the space is during the regularly scheduled Kimball Theatre Organ demonstration. The building itself is music for the eyes. And bring your sense of fun and adventure to take full advantage of the many opportunities to get hands on with exhibits.

Photo Blogging Challenge – ‘Tis the Season (December 2016)

Mention the word "season" in the month of December and several possibilities come to mind: 1) the start of ski season, 2) the beginning of winter, 3) Christmas and other holidays, and 4) delicious cooking. In 2016, winter solstice occurred at the tail end of an extended cold snap. Maybe that's why I found the holiday spirit so elusive this year. Even so, my long-standing habit of toting a camera along just about everywhere produced a handful of photos depicting some of my favourite things about the holiday season.
