February is the month to celebrate love, whether romantic, platonic or familial. And for the world around us. Through deeds, and photographs!
Despite the ever-changing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, we enjoyed some holly jolly experiences this December: family time, good food, lots of walks and Lego building!
People sure make different choices when it comes to vacations. Budget, family circumstances and personal interests shape holiday plans. Our family vacations tend to one extreme or the other - we go big or stay home! This spring vacation, we opted to unwind with a nine-day nature break in Canmore, featuring daily photo walks. Our vacation pics reflect the tussle between winter and spring that takes place at this time of year in this part of the world.
Mention the word "season" in the month of December and several possibilities come to mind: 1) the start of ski season, 2) the beginning of winter, 3) Christmas and other holidays, and 4) delicious cooking. In 2016, winter solstice occurred at the tail end of an extended cold snap. Maybe that's why I found the holiday spirit so elusive this year. Even so, my long-standing habit of toting a camera along just about everywhere produced a handful of photos depicting some of my favourite things about the holiday season.
Photo blogging challenge host PJ must have a bit of code he runs against a short list of possible themes each month. The "winning" theme is the one with the highest likelihood to stump and then inspire participants to push creative boundaries. Or maybe not...after all with this being the leap month of a leap …
