We stopped at more than a dozen locations during our two days of photo touring in the heart of Iceland's Highlands. The landscape is remarkable: contrasting bright green mosses and lichens against a background of black lava rock and sand; glacial rivers and highland tarns; isolated fishing lakes nestled between rolling hills; waterfalls and more. We enjoyed composing traditional landscapes, panoramas and more abstract interpretations of the land. These two days confirmed we made the right call engaging a photo guide / driver for much of our time in Iceland. Thanks, Haukur!
We had almost 4 days to explore the Iceland's south highlands (basically the area centered around Landmannalaugar). We did two hikes (Blue Peak and one leg of Laugavegur). Otherwise, we were on a four day photo safari that took full advantage of our driver/photo guide's knowledge of the area. We left the South Highlands with more than 2000 photographs to sort and process. Here are some of our favourites.
