As a long-time blogger, I regularly notice how there's something about translating thoughts into letters that makes the brain slow down. It's a form of meditation, where the object of focus appears in black and white as fingers depress computer keys. On really good days, I enjoy a flow state from the time I click "start a new post" until I click "publish". Those days are rare. For the photo blogging challenge, the process lasts a month!
I have a bit of a thing for notebooks and have several on my desk at all times, a variety of spiral bound, sewn, glued, stapled, small, large, soft-covered, hard-covered, lined and unlined where I jot down ideas, make lists, take notes on things I read or find interesting and do my best to keep organized. But I didn’t photograph any of my current set of notebooks for this post. Read on to learn why...
New year, new decade(?) and new adventures all come together in this month's installment of the Photo Blogging Challenge. Between New Year's Eve fireworks, checking out the Banff/Lake Louise Snow Days, a visit to Contemporary Calgary's new home, a vacation including new-to-us National and State parks and other activities, there were plenty of photos to choose from.
There's so much jingle-jangle during the holiday season: Salvation Army Santa's at donation boxes, Christmas music streaming from the speakers in every store, the tiny bells attached to my holiday socks, and my nerves after a long-day of shopping or too much holiday hostessing! No wonder PBC host PJ assigned Jingle All the Way for this month's theme. 🙂
For the past several years, Lego has released holiday bonus sets - usually two per year. These sets are only available with a minimum purchase, starting on Black Friday. The first 2019 bonus set is the biggest one yet - in terms of the minimum price threshold, the piece count and the completed height. It's a lovely Christmas tree, and is a welcome addition to our mantelpiece holiday decor.
