New year, new decade(?) and new adventures all come together in this month's installment of the Photo Blogging Challenge. Between New Year's Eve fireworks, checking out the Banff/Lake Louise Snow Days, a visit to Contemporary Calgary's new home, a vacation including new-to-us National and State parks and other activities, there were plenty of photos to choose from.
The annual SnowDays winter festival in Banff National Park continues to evolve. Highlights for 2020 include snow sculptures in Banff and ice sculptures at Lake Louise. Pack your camera and skates and enjoy a mid-winter day in the Canadian Rockies!
After 10 days in the field, we've concluded that from late fall through early spring, Simms Guide Windbloc® Foldover Mitts are going to be some of the most-used gear in our photography kits.
Highline Trail is a hard-packed trail with multiple route options. Well-used by fat-bike riders, mountain bikers and trail runners, it's also a an easy-to-reach conditioning trail well-suited for winter hiking. Mostly in the woods, there are a few peek-a-boo views into the Bow Valley, including the flood-hardened Cougar Creek.
Most of us use glasses every day. Those blessed with 20/20 vision sport sunglasses and lift drinking glasses. Those who need corrective lenses to experience anything close to 20/20 eyesight have a spending category labelled prescription glasses. For this month's PBC theme, I aimed to take photos of many different kinds of glasses. I didn't get any of magnifying glasses or rose-coloured glasses. Take a look through and let me know what else I missed.
