Our family enjoys outdoor adventures in the beautiful southwest corner of Alberta: hiking, biking, nature photography and geocaching are some of our favourite activities. We started hiking as a family in 2004, when our youngest was 4 years old. We started geocaching in 2006, when our friends "Sears Tower" introduced us to high-tech treasure hunting. We especially enjoy earthcaches. We've been slowly migrating from paved path cycling to single-track riding. And as far as photography goes, we've been improving our skills ever since I started blogging about our outdoor adventures in 2008. I blog mainly to create a family journal that includes all of our outdoor adventures. It’s a convenient way for extended family to find out about what we’ve been up to, when and if they want. Beyond those entirely selfish reasons, I like to think I'm providing some visitors to Calgary, Canmore, Banff National Park and Kananaskis Country with information that will help them choose between between the many of hiking options available. Thanks for visiting! ~ Denise / Mrs. GeoK

Nearby Nature Project / 30

I published Nearby Nature Project /29 more than 10 months ago. Since then, we traveled 5 weeks through Norway, where receding glaciers and melting permafrost = good reminders that we shouldn't take Nature for granted. Nature is more than something that's there when we need a pick-me-up or photos/videos for our social channels. Canmore Close …

With my WordPress plan coming up for renewal, I ran headlong into a change in the terms and conditions that I missed when announced. I was way over the lower included storage limit and needed to figure out how to deal with that - and fast!
