We are grateful for time spent outdoors - for the physical and mental benefits of time spent in nature. And after months of preparing every meal at home, a new kitchen appliance is cause to celebrate!
I can think of at least three good reasons Photo Blogging Challenge host PJ went with the Great Outdoors for October's theme. First, chief medical officers keep telling us to head outside for daily exercise (while social distancing, of course). Second, it's a broad theme, which hopefully means more participants. Finally, reading all participating posts will be like a mini vacation with stops around the world!
Whether you snap away in the hopes of getting at least one good picture or snap away after envisioning the shot and carefully adjusting the exposure triangle and composition to get the intended result, snapping away is what photographers do!
Between the return of major league sports, peak hiking/biking season across Canada and medical officers asking all of us to be good sports about wearing a mask, there is a wide range of subject matter for the August 2020 photo blogging challenge.
As a long-time blogger, I regularly notice how there's something about translating thoughts into letters that makes the brain slow down. It's a form of meditation, where the object of focus appears in black and white as fingers depress computer keys. On really good days, I enjoy a flow state from the time I click "start a new post" until I click "publish". Those days are rare. For the photo blogging challenge, the process lasts a month!
