This month I've thought about potential effects on nearby nature due to Calgary's water emergency. Also, it's been an okay month for birding, a good month for bear sightings and the start of wildflower season!
Signs that spring has sprung in the Canadian Rockies: migrating birds, colourful wildflowers, foraging bears, and cyclists on roads still closed to vehicles.
Parks Canada is doing their best to lay on a few pandemic perks in Banff National Park. For example, the Bow Valley Parkway is closed to vehicles between Banff and Castle Junction. With fresh asphalt and no cars, it's a great summer of 2020 highway ride for cyclists.
