Expedition Cruise: Gems Of West Greenland

This long read covers pretty much every aspect of our 12-day Gems of West Greenland aboard Quark Expeditions' Ultramarine. We were blessed with excellent weather and the sunshine and blue skies brought out the best in Greenland's rugged, polar landscape. Our superb sea kayaking experiences top the long list of things we particularly enjoyed, with visits to three colorful and friendly towns a close second.

Things I Love

July 2024's photo blogging challenge theme is Things I Love. I thought about whether "things" includes people. But a quick check of the dictionary makes it clear that while a noun is a person, place or thing, things are limited to inanimate objects, interests or an experiences. So while some photos include people I love, they are incidental to those things I selected for this post.

Cycling the High Rockies Trail (Driftwood to Buller Creek)

Construction of the High Rockies Trail is slated for completion prior to Canada's 150th celebration in 2017. Trail runners, hikers and mountain bikers are already exploring the completed section running from Goat Creek to Buller Creek in the Spray Valley. We rode from Driftwood Day Use Area to Buller Creek and rate the High Rockies Trail two thumbs up. With multiple access points, some great views and lots of ups and downs, this trail is sure to be popular with locals and visitors alike. We'll definitely ride it again (and again).
