March 2011 Geocaching “12 of 12”

Yesterday, curiosity drove me to look at our flickr account to see when we last participated in the “12 of 12” photography project. It was a year ago, in March 2010! Since a tweet from DarrylW4 (host and producer of Cache-A Maniacs and Cachers of the Round Table podcasts) alerted me to the fact that today is the first Geocaching 12 of 12 for 2011 and we’re in Camore for the weekend and the temperature is finally in the normal range for early spring, I talked the rest of the GeoKs into going out for a long geocaching walk.

We left shortly after lunch and by the time we finished – 3 hours later – we’d found 5 big ammo can caches, walked 10.5 km, had wet feet (from snow getting in over the tops of our boots) and shot well over 50 photos from which to compose our “Geocaching 12 of 12” photo set on flickr. Thanks to Big R, Little L & the Minis for hiding so many “regular” caches on the Three Sisters side of Canmore. And thanks to Chad Darnell, Team Podcacher and DarrylW4 for conceiving, publicizing and evolving the “12 of 12”.

Here’s our final cache for the day. And check out our flickr account to see the rest of our “12 of 12” set.
