Comprised mainly of hard quartzites, Shiehallion is a glacier-carved Munro hike in the Glencoe region of Scotland. The out and back trail from the Braes of Foss car park to the summit clocks in at 10.6 km (6.6 miles) return.
The second day of our week of guided hiking in the Glencoe region of the Scottish highlands was a "proper bog" hiking experience - one we'll remember for decades to come.
Our week of small group guided hiking in the northwest Scottish Highlands took us up Col Mor, Suilven and Stac Pollaidh, among others. We also enjoyed a couple of lighthouse walks, a beach walk, a Summer Isles cruise, lots of history and some fantastic contemporary Scottish music. In fact, Peat and Diesel have been added to some of my playlists!
Highlights of the Inchnadamph Bone Caves trail include a small waterfall, some creek side hiking, three caves and lots of natural history.
