Although Bow Valley Campground closes to campers each winter, area trails are still accessible for winter hiking, birdwatching and photography. Visitors can tailor the hiking distance to suit the weather conditions and the capabilities of the group, with routes ranging from 2 to 10+ km,
It shouldn't surprise long-time readers that Mother Nature plays a key role in our world. As do family and friends. September was a great month for hiking, biking, kayaking, board games and family dinners.
The first 2021 photo blogging challenge theme is appropriate on many levels: change and hope. On the COVID-19 front, one big change is the development, approval and pending delivery of effective vaccines. Canada has little to no sovereign vaccine-making capacity, so availability is limited and roll out is slow. But we hope every resident of Canada has access to COVID-19 vaccine by the end of 2021. Then we can all get on with figuring out the new normal. We hope it will be good and we know it will be changed from pre-COVID.
Whether intentional or accidental, I'm glad this month's photo blogging challenge theme doesn't specify "holiday" season. Why? Because many our magic moments in December related to the winter season, not Christmas. Add in a couple special Christmas memories and narrowing it down to just five photos is hard!
