Elk in our Back Yard

I’m working on a blog post about our first big hike of the 2013 summer season, but it’s taking longer than I expected. So I decided to pull together a set of photos from earlier this month, when a herd of about 30 elk hung around our Canmore backyard for pretty much an entire day. Aside from slipping out to take some photographs, we were content to watch them through the windows – except for when they started to eat our aspen trees!
