Despite the need to make progress on some stalled projects, we made time for fun as the seasons transitioned from spring to summer. We got out and about biking, hiking, birding and geocaching, to name just a few. How about you?

Photo Blogging Challenge – Blue (November 2017)
This month's photo blogging challenge features blue - the most common colour in my world thanks to the broad prairie sky overhead, its reflection in rivers, ponds and lakes, and the extensive use of blue-tinted glass in Calgary's newest office towers. ILLUMINATIONS: human/nature
ILLUMINATIONS: human/nature was conceived for people like me! Billed as a participative art experience incorporating history and nature, I expected a mash-up of art and nature featuring tons of lights and projected images, triggered by walking or touching something while enjoying the great outdoors in Banff National Park. While most of those elements were part of the experience, for me, the participative aspect fell short. Our group focused primarily on doing what needed to be done to move on to the next way station and there wasn't much discussion or sharing of perspectives. I do really like the overall concept of a short-run, multi-media, site relevant art installation celebrating Canada's parks quite appealing and hope for they'll be another opportunity to experience art in nature before Canada 200 rolls around.
Cycling Adventures on the World’s Longest Urban Pathway System
Thanks to the multitude of community partners backing the Rotary-Mattamy Greenway, Calgarian's have pathway access to more neighbourhoods than ever before. Wondering where to start your exploration of the Greenway? We offer up five recommendations based on pedaling more than 500 km on Calgary pathways over the last six weeks. We also share advice on which areas to avoid - at least until the final construction phase is complete. Once the missing bits are finished, the Greenway is gonna be truly awesome! We might even try to ride the whole thing in one day!
Cycling the Bow River Pathway
After ride up Highwood Pass, we opted for something considerably easier for our next bicycle outing: 34 km (mostly) along sections of the Bow River Pathway in Calgary. It just naturally evolved into an art and architecture tour centered around 3 main stops.
